Attorney Carrington Mead was submitted into the Florida Bar in 2004.

She earned her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of North Florida in 2001 and also possesses an undergraduate degree in accounting. Soon after in 2003, she completed her Law Degree at the Florida Coastal School of Law in Jacksonville, Florida. There she received the Barbara McCalla Memorial Award and was a member of Legal and Community Services to Those in Need: 2001-2004, along with recognition of her many hours of community service during her law school career.

In 2005 she proudly accepted the title of Young Lawyer of the Year, from the Jacksonville Bar Association for her pro bono work and Lawyer of the Year from in their Family Law section. She is also a member of the American Bar Association. She ranks as a Barrister in the American Family Law Inn of Court and is actively vetted into the Family Law Institute for the LGBT National Bar.

Attorney Mead was enlisted in the U.S. Navy, 1985 – 1988 and is a third generation sailor and fourth generation military service member. She was given an honorable discharge as an enlisted grade disabled veteran. She is now a VA accredited Veterans Benefits Attorney.

Attorney Mead has also received awards from the LGBT community for her work on Justice for Terri Ann Summers Coalition while a Law student, Pride Award 1999 for her work in bringing a local mammography mobile unit for two years in a row, and received a Fairy Godparent Award from the Jacksonville Area Sexual Minority Youth Network (JASMYN).
